Shades of Gray Block Tour
I’m happy to be a part of the Shades of Gray Block Tour this year. Every week a different designer releases a free 6 1/2” quilt block designed in shades of gray and black, with one pop of color. Fun, right? It’s been fitting, because as I’ve been designing this block this winter, everything outside seems like it has been in shades of gray, and I need a pop of color! I love that quilting brings color into my life at anytime of year!
Shades of Gray
Lily Block
The block I designed is a block I’ve used (in a larger size) in two different quilt patterns in the past. This lily block is fun and easy to make, with just a little skill-building challenge in the half rectangle triangles. Use it on-pointe for a line up of repeating lilies, or use it in horizontal rows, rotating each block for an interesting geometric pattern.
My block release won’t officially be announced until the week of March 22, but for my faithful blog readers, I’m giving a little sneak peak now. Sign up here for the free block pattern (and a few other bonus freebies as well!)
And make sure to follow along all year for all the fun free block patterns. Including another block from me in the fall! And you can win awesome prizes if you make the blocks and submit a photo! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
