Shades of Gray Block Tour - Witch Hat
I’m happy to be a part of the Shades of Gray Block Tour again this fall. The idea of this block tour is that every week a different designer releases a free 6 1/2” quilt block designed in shades of gray, with one pop of color. Check out the Lily Block I contributed in the spring.
This time around I designed a Witch Hat Block. It was a natural for this color scheme, and I think it turned out pretty cute! This block is based on the Witch Hat Block in my Moonlight Fright quilt pattern.
There are two main techniques used in the construction of this block, Half Square Triangles and Half Rectangle Triangles. For more in depth instruction on these techniques, you can watch my YouTube tutorials.
My block release won’t officially be announced until the week of March 22, but for my faithful blog readers, I’m giving a little sneak peak now. Sign up here for the free block pattern (and a few other bonus freebies as well!)
And make sure to follow along all year for all the fun free block patterns. You can win awesome prizes if you make the blocks and submit a photo! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
The Moonlight Fright Quilt pattern is available in PDF and paper booklet formats as well as in a kit!
